The research of his life and family aims to master his outlook on life and values so that the ideological basis of his poetic composing will be better understood. His life experiences consist of two periods, which are bounded by being an official in Qing Dynasty, one is"rebelling against Qing Dynasty and being retainer of some officials", and the other is"securing an official position in Qing Dynasty and returning to the farmland". His tortuous life experiences had done a direct influence on the inspiration involving in composing poetry. The process of his poetry composing can be divided into two periods according to his life experiences. And then, this chapter expounds his poetic thoughts-"fundamental theory and history".The second chapter has a discussion on Zhu Yizun's early poems of being grand, vehement. The first section elaborates the contents featuring as"recalling the previous dynasty and feeling upset in turmoil"and"positive attitude towards the society"and divides his poetry composed in the periods of resisting Qing Dynasty and being retainer in some authorities into three principal parts. In the first part,"recalling the previous dynasty"expresses his deep pain and terribly thinking of the former dynasty which had been subjugated. In the second part, his thought about"concerning about people's livelihood and critically pointing out problems"explores the political conditions at that time, and witnesses the painful living conditions of the rough scuff in that troublous times. In the third part, his"expression of lofty aspiration"conveys his optimistic attitude towards the world and records his deeds of resisting the Qing Dynasty. The second section elaborates Zhu Yizun's early poems with the feature of being tragic and powerful from the angle of poetic art, which respectively focus on the fields of true feeling, conflicting pattern, desolate imagery and vigorous and precise language and so on.The third chapter analyzes the peaceful and graceful latter poetry. The first section elaborates the ideological contents from the following four aspects: thanksgiving the rewards and expressing his frustration of being banished and official boredom; being addicted to landscape and composing poems; describing daily life and pointing out problems and singing the praises of favorable ethnics. The second section analyzes the peaceful and academic artistic features of his latter poetry from the perspectives of harmonious pattern, ostentatious and inappropriate display of learning in his poetry, prose-like poetry and so on. Compared with the former ones, the latter poetry have changed a lot on the contents and artistic characteristics, especially distinguished from his composing poetry when he had been an official in Qing Dynasty. Generally speaking, Zhu Yizun's achievements of the latter poetry are weaker than that of the former. The fourth chapter discusses the causes of the poetic pattern of Zhu Yizun and points out that the reasons which result from his transformations on poetic style are: psychological transformation-from rebelling against the ruler of Qing Dynasty to gradually accepting the new society; learning from the thoughts of Tang Dynasty when he was young and then coinciding with the thoughts of Song Dynasty at his old age and the academic cultures in the early Qing Dynasty, etc.
