Chunyu Kun, whose thought and words and deeds had had far-reaching influence on the development of Jixia Academy, was the leader of science in Jixia Academy during the Warring States Period. In order to make up for the insufficiency, the writer tries to give him a better evaluation of his historical contributions and historical footing by exploring all-sided the life experience, political ideas, philosophic thought, diplomatic wisdom and argument art, by further analysis on his works, the adscription of his school and some other disputed problems. The thesis contains eight chapters. This chapter illustrates the following viewpoints gives prominence to their positive effects on the monarch, the ministers, the country and the people. The writer on one hand inherits previous scholars' understanding and analysis to three aspects of his thought of "Things will develop in the opposite direction when they become extreme", "Objects belong to respective types" and "Contents must be conveyed by a certain form". On the other hand, the writer sets forth a new viewpoint of "Argument for Courtesy and Power" and discusses the relationship between them. Setting forth new philosophical viewpoint based on the breakthrough of "argument for courtesy and power", illustrating the point of "argument for courtesy and power" is the very representation of Chunyu Kun's political and philosophical thought systematizing. The writer reduces his skills to five aspects which are language for Argument featured in implicitness, attached importance to Rivals of Argument, more Attention to logical and grandiose arrangement of argument, various angles for argument and voice of argument full of individuality.Drawing the conclusion that there's relationship between Chunyu Kun and《Wang Du Ji》and《Yan Zi Chun Qiu》by ascertainment on Chunyu Kun's works. The two books were thought to be written by Chunyu Kun but needed attesting.By ascertaining the definitions and traits of Political Strategists and Eclectics School, the thesis makes meticulous differentiation on precious theories that "Chunyu Kun belongs to Political Strategists " and "Chunyu Kun belongs to Eclectics School" so that drew the conclusion that Chunyu Kun belongs to Eclectics School not Political Strategists School.Lastly, the thesis gives a complete evaluation on important role in Jixia Academy and his special cultural footing through the research on Chunyu Kun's important role in ups and downs of Jixia Academy, in starting the tolerant and free Jiaxia style of study and also in the profound affect on coming into being the Confucian School and Huang Lao Scholars.
