On The Sound, Emotion And Artistic Conception Of Pipa

The dissertation studies the interrelationships of sound, emotion, image, and artistic conception, as well as their presentation and conformity. Taking Pudong Pipa School as a Case-Study, my dissertation will make some discussion theoretically.Through in-depth research of the object, the sound, the emotion, the image and the artistic conception will be discussed. "Kuang" means the status of being, as well as the taste of music. The "Sheng Kuang" means mostly the sound of instrument, or the characteristic of the sound. My dissertation takes the sound of Pipa in the traditional Pudong Pipa School from Shanghai Nanhui Area as a Case-Study. "Qing Kuang" means the status of human emotion. I will study the sound of Pipa related to human emotion. "Yi Kuang" means mutual relationships between the image and artistic conception.According to my study, the conclusion will be made that the sound of music includes relevant human emotion, it can manifest the meaning of music. Therefore, the sound and the soul are one.
