An Approach To Fictitious Pragmatic Presupposition

Pragmatic presupposition is a hot spot in the field of modern linguistics research, of whichvarious results have been achieved. As a special branch of pragmatic presupposition, thefictitious pragmatic presupposition, however, has not aroused enough attention so far. This papertries to make an initial research in this field.Having stripped the ideal state of pragmatic presupposition, the paper takes fictitiouspragmatic presupposition, which widely exists in communication, as the study objects, separatingit from general pragmatic presupposition according to the truth value and confirmed theconnotation and denotation of the fictitious pragmatic presupposition, focusing on factualfictitious presupposition and behavior fictitious presuppositionStarting from the characteristics of pragmatic presupposition and taking fictitious pragmaticpresupposition as study objects, which does not follow the contextual adaptation and mutualknowledge in parole practice, the paper refined characteristics of it by comparing the differencesbetween fictitious pragmatic presupposition and general pragmatic presupposition, distinguishednegative fictitious pragmatic presupposition as pragmatic failure and active fictitious pragmaticpresupposition as pragmatic strategies, and divides the subcategories of the fictitious pragmaticpresupposition.Therefore, from a cognitive view, this text also devotes itself to the exploration of the causesof fictitious pragmatic presupposition and analyses the pragmatic value of active fictitiouspragmatic presupposition in the practical application of speeches from perspectives ofpsychology, logic and literature.
