This thesis based on the theories of fuzzy linguistics and second language acquisition, mainly consists of three aspects: first, precision and fuzzy semantics of Chinese numerals and measure words; second, fuzzy pragmatics of Chinese numerals and measure words; third, teaching strategies of Chinese fuzzy semantic numerals and measure words. It begins with a brief introduction to the precision on Chinese numerals and measure words, focusing on the fuzzy-classification on numerals and measure words, and the fuzzy semantics on precise numerals and measure words which are restricted by hedges. Next, it analyzes the pragmatic function of precise and fuzzy numerals and measure words. Finally, it analyzes errors in the procession of the acquisition on the fuzzy numerals and measure words for foreign students, problems which lie in the teaching materials, and teaching strategies of how to deal with these problems.Through the comprehensive study on 'fuzziness and teaching strategies on Chinese numerals and measure words', it hopes to discover some fuzziness features on Chinese numerals and measure words and to see what roles they play, thus, some practical and useful teaching strategies can be found and used in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
