Xi'an, with the deep historical details, rich cultural connotation and ancient civilization heritage, is one of the most important birthplace of Chinese civilization. Along with the rapid economic development, urban construction and the rapid growth continuing to expand the size of the cities. Xi'an traditional neighborhood protection and development also face an unprecedented crisis. The traditional urban space has been a great change while the protection of monuments and historical block is taking place. Cities lack of personality and features, which have already challenged our concerns and criticism, had us to research and solve the topic. Thus, it is not only required for us absolutely to respect and protect history and culture, but also to fulfill traditional culture express and preach once more with the modern technique in nowadays. The research and application, under the guidance of a new round of city overall planning, on cultural marks of Xi'an traditional blocks improves the standard of urban design and enhances urban grade.This paper attempts to introduce Semiotics into the application and research of the cultural marks of Xi'an traditional blocks. Semiotics is a science on the structure and life. As a symbol of the theoretical structure, semiotics' value represents on applying to the different facets of social life, and successfully hiding in which reveals the significance of its composition and the rule of law. With the development of society, culture logo are playing an increasingly important role as cultural logo on human survival and development plays a key role. Semiotics and Cultural logo closely related, both have to discuss the significance, communicate and explain the process. In this paper, we are using some of the important symbols of the basic theoretical views to analysis the visual perception symbol system of Xi'an cultural marks in traditional blocks, with Xi'an traditional cultural district marks as research object, as well as analysis on excellent cases in native and abroad. such as grammar is mainly to study constitutes of cultural marks and relationship between different marks; pragmatic research is to study on the relationship between marks system and its explainners; semantics is to study the relationship between marks system and its logo symbols. At the same time, we are deeply explore marks of traditional cultural blocks, as well as use symbols and theoretical aspects of the marks design to re-organize it, in order to propose innovative perspectives based on the existing views. Ultimately, we reflected that material and spiritual play an important or decisive role in the relevant elements composing civilization, and tried to further tap the city symbols hiding in a relationship with the spirit of the strong symbolic significance and how-to block theoretical research in the traditional cultural settings logo basic research. This study will be a systemic awareness on the marks in Xi'an traditional blocks, and will enhance the overall image of the city on the basis of a city's character.
