It's of great academic value and realistic reference to carry out the research on secret society in Shandong in the 1920's and the 1930's, make the folk organization which played an important role during the period.First of all, it can help deepen the research on the secret society history and the contemporary and modern history of China. Through making a research on its origin, developing, property and character, we can provide abundant and detailed materials for researching into the secret society history macroscopically, and deepen the research into the field.Secondly, it can help deepen the research on local history of Shandong. In recent years, great achievement has been made in the field of local history of Shandong. However, the achievements simply lies in either superficial mentioned or focused on several main sects, and that is not beneficial to a complete, whole understanding of the history of Shandong.As a result, the research on secret society in Shandong in the 1920's and the 1930's might make up for the insufficiency of the local history of Shandong, especially the research on secret society in Shandong in the 1920's and the 1930's.Finally, it can make the secret society in that period in Shandong understood by the contemporary people even the ones in the future, and that is of great reference to the special struggles such as"anti-crime","eradication of heathendom".The article takes the 1920's and the 1930's as historical background, the secret society in Shandong as objects, combing out laterally the situations, organizations, doctrines , social and political activities. The article can be divided into four chapters, and the content is as following:The secret society in the 1920's and the 1930's had been developed further, and new features also had appeared in the form of organization: there were forms of voluntarily organizing, local country gentlemen and bullies organizing and party-influenced ones. At the same time, many sects also came into being centered on Dadaohui, Wujidao, Tiebanhui, Tianmenhui, Yiguandao, thus they caused deep influences on the political situation and the society of Shandong.(the 1st chapter)compared with before, the types of secret society in that period increased. Some were imported from other regions, though originated from Shandong.some enlarged greatly. From the angle of doctrines and rationale, the secret society can be divided into"huimen"and"daomen". The former is more complicated in organization, more complete ,more superstitious and destructive than the later. But the nature of secret society decides'daomen"and"huimen"are both feudal superstitious organizations.(the 2nd chapter)Their social activities were mainly mission, anti-government, anti-bandits, and some of them were connected with political parties and participated in other social activities actively. Of course, they were still very feudal, destructive and obviously backward.(the 3rd chapter)The features of the secret society'activities in that period in Shandong were: widely spreading, complicated relations in politics and the diversity of the causes of forming. The three characteristics were directly connected with the social political background.In modern times,wars continued one after another,and the political situation and the society were highly volatile,and that provided useful social base and political conditions for the rapid boom of secret sects in Shandong, besides, their social activities were also with some political overtones; and the new characteristics of secret society in Shadong made important influences on the political situation and society of Shandong.(the 4th chapter)The secret society are one of sick society organizations. They are obviously backward, destructive and feudal, very easy to be employed by the reactionary forces. And the activities of the secret society and the following influences in Anti-Japanese War and Liberation War proved it, leaving us deep historical inspiration.(conclusion)...
