On Sino-American Military Cooperation Around The Outbreak Of The Pacific War

Sino-US relation during World Warâ…¡, is one of the best periods in history, which is called the golden age of Sino-US relations, also an important component part of allies' cooperation in the Anti-Fascist War. And the military cooperation between the two countries around the Pacific War is a concrete manifestation of the friendship between the two countries.Sino-US relation during this period is one of the most glorious pages in the history of the two countries. The common strategic objective against fascist aggression in wartime is the cornerstone of Sino-US relation, the successful military cooperation between the two countries is the core and tie of Sino-US relation. The military alliance relation of the two countries in the wartime is a new kind of relationship. The establishment of such relation has made an extremely important contribution to the victory of the Anti-fascist War, and had a far-reaching impact on the development of Sino-US relation after the war.The thesis mainly has devoted to the military alliance's formation and its tortuous path in the cooperation process around the outbreak of the Pacific War, explored and analyzed the reasons of the conflicts and coordination between the two countries, and elaborated the nature and significance of Sino-US military relation in the wartime, so that we can have a deeper understanding of the current Sino-US relation, all at once, we can give further references for the development of Sino-US relations later and provide proper ways of handling the issues between the two countries in the future.The thesis is divided into preface, body, conclusion and references. The first part has stated the historical background of Sino-US military cooperation during this period. Japan's invasion into China launched further challenge to the peace of the Asia-Pacific region. Faced with the formidable enemy, the Chinese Nationalist Government had maintained a bitter vigil and waited for aids,while The United States tried to avoid getting involved in the war due to its decision-making environment and immediate interests. However, Japan's attempt to dominate the Asia-Pacific region's plan will make China and the United States eventually get in the way of cooperation. The second part focuses on the history of the National Government's actively seeking loans from the United States to strengthen their diplomatic cooperation as well as the economic assistance from the United States around the outbreak of the Pacific War. The assistance was more significant in politics and military than in economy, and thus opened a prelude to the Sino-US military cooperation. The third part has stated the United States' implementation of "Rent Law" to China, the establishment of Volunteers of the United States Air Force and Magruder military delegation's to China, and pointed out that these facts indicated that Sino-US military cooperation has initially taken shape before the outbreak of the Pacific War, which has laid a good foundation for Sino-US formal military alliance after the outbreak of the Pacific War . However, owing to the common strategic objectives and interests, the military cooperation of the two countries had always been the mainstream.The conclusion has concluded the whole content of the thesis, and further pointed out that the Sino-US relationship is a strategic cooperative partnership after the outbreak of the Pacific War.
