The Historical Research On The Sino-american Cooperative Organization And Sino-american Military Technological Cooperation

After the Pacific War broke out, China and America founded military alliance formally. In order to fight against Japan further and improve military cooperation between China and America, they established the international military cooperative agency, Sino-American Cooperative Organization(SACO). From the beginning of July,1943 to the ending of January, 1946, in less than three years, China and America made the military technological cooperation effectively in the aspects of intercepting radio intelligence, collecting weather intelligence, and taking military reconnaissance.America dispatched military technologists to build training camps in many areas of China. Those technologists exercised and guided Chinese to take special warfare behind enemy lines. They built armed forces and sent American weapons to Chinese. During the cooperation, China and America exchanged military intelligence, prepared to supply the American landing forces on China’s coast, and fought against Japanese together. As an important form of war time military technological cooperation between China and America, SACO took some positive effects to the triumph of Anti-Japanese War and Anti-Fascist War. However, because of the contradiction of American policy with China and inside problems of SACO, SACO inevitably had the negative historical influence during its development, which made Sino-American military technological cooperation could not continue in a durable and stable way. The results of research on the estimation of SACO in the past time put it to a polarized tendency. The paper tried to use materials from various parts and objectively researched the military technological cooperation activities of SACO that both China and America depended on. By doing that, this paper illustrated SACO made some contributions to the victory of war and involved the civil war between the Communist Party and the Kuomingtang led-troops,which did not comport with its mission.
