The Construction Of Traditional Filial Piety Ethic And The Contemporary Harmonious Society

The traditional culture of filial piety is one important and special part of Chinese traditional culture. The culture of filial piety, which is the core concept of Chinese traditional Ethic ,is the basic principle to communicate with the people for Chinese and the traditional imporatant tactics to govern the nation and control the situation of society.For decades, many causes, such as the natural economy based on the handcraft agriculture and the social construction of the special pattern of family,etc, have been limitied the evolvement of Chinese traditional culture of filial piety.Thus,the meaning of filial piety involves supporting the parents and commemorating the ancestors into family ethics at the beginning ,then universalizes social ethics among people and eventually extends into the national ideology which forms the multiple cultural connotations influencing every field of traditional society. The culture of filial piety,which roots in the tradional culture deeply,plays both a positive influence and ,meanwhile ,a negative aspect of the effect on the Chinese traditional society.Currently,China is in the course of constructing Harmonious Society. Constructing harmonious society is a complex systems engineering concerning every field of social lives,but culture construction is its core and basis unquestionably. Culture is only the groundwork for human cultural development but also the basic qualities for a nation's development. Harmonious culture is both the important characteristics of harmonious society and the spititual impetus to realise harmonimous society. We must do some objective analysis to the duality of traditional culture of filial piety to advance the modernization of the Chinese traditional culture and to construct socialism harmonious culture. It is necessary to accept the essence and get rid of the dross in inheriting the traditional tilial piety in order to construct a new type of culture of filial piety which adapts to construct harmonious society.The thesis intruduces the development and its main contents of traditional traditional filial piety by adapting many kinds of methods such as comparison method,studying literature method,logical analysis method,etc.The thesis ,which is based on the analysis of evolvement and factors concerning on political,economy and culture,evaluates the roles in the traditional society objectively, explores the roles and meanings of constructing social harmonious society and puts forward some theories about excavating the contemporary value of the traditional culture of filial piety by combining the new request on the filial piety in constructing harmonious society.
