Traditional Filial Piety And Its Modernization

"Among all kinds of kindness, filial piety goes first" Filial piety is the traditional moral spirit. It has no word difference, no nation difference, no belief, difference, no country borders, no time limit. Filial piety is not only the most simple feeling the human soul, but also the most noble feelings, is common avenue of human life!Chinese traditional filial piety is the core of Chinese traditional culture, it is the main content of ideology of feudal society for thousands of years in China, penetrate into every aspect of social life. As the core of Chinese traditional culture, the culture of filial piety plays an active role in Chinese history of the development process. As followed:the role of education of ethics of traditional filial piety; the role of forming family regulation of traditional filial piety; the role of forming harmonious society; the role of establishing patriotic spirit and cohesion. Undeniable, as the ideological culture of history formation, after Confucius, Mencius and later experienced the past dynasties Confucianism, especially the ruling class’interpretation modification, the traditional filial piety culture has become an extremely complex thought theory system, its negative influence is unavoidable:traditional filial piety ethics was lack of equal family ethics of traditional filial piety relationship, lack of irrational human factors. With the progress of human civilization, the development of humanism, the urgent need to establish the model of humanistic concept of filial piety, to interpretation the meaning of individual life existence.Based on the reality, this paper returns to the origin of traditional filial piety, defines the concept of the traditional filial piety; elaborate the basic content and essence of the traditional filial piety; dialectical analysis the positive role and its historical limitation; analysis the dilemma of the traditional filial piety in modern society, such as the traditional filial piety moral getting weaken; traditional family ethic getting weaken; the social security system is not perfect. The reasons of above fact forms is complex, including the effect of market economy adverse; the values clash of modern filial piety between the traditional filial piety; the disadvantages of rational filial piety. Through the above analysis, it is necessary to establish a new type of filial piety. Based on the principle of equality, emotional, self-discipline, mutual benefit, this paper puts forward some suggestion to the modern society. So, we should to develop energetically productivity, in order to provide material guarantee for establishing a new concept of filial piety; to strengthen filial piety education, in order to provide moral guarantee for establish a new concept of filial piety; to perfect the legal construction, in order to provide law guarantee for establishment of new filial piety; to strengthen pension system Construction, in order to provide Social security for building a new filial piety.The ethics of Filial piety, is the traditional virtue of the Chinese nation, one of the important contents of the traditional culture, it is in cultivate individual personality, regulation of traditional family relationship, promote social harmony, cultivate the spirit of patriotism and play an important role. Therefore, it is necessary and important theory significance and the practical significance to fully and correctly understanding the tradition of filial piety, to construct the new filial piety ethics.
