A Study On The Language Of Interesting Short Message

With the support of electronic technology, Short Message Service (SMS) hasbecome a new way of communication and also a fashionable cultural phenomenon,which has flourished rapidly and obtained the concern of the public and the academein recent years. As a particular SMS, Interesting Short Message (ISM) reflects variouskinds of delight and wisdom in our life through portable phones and languages andbecomes a new idol of communication.Choosing the relatively favorably received typical ISM in SMS as the subject ofthe research, adopting methods of induction and analysis and taking advantage ofrelated linguistic theories, at the basis of analyzing scientifically the selected materialsthe thesis explores the rules and summarizes the characteristics of ISM, and alsoelaborates theoretically the present studying status of the research and thecharacteristics of language, the values and the existing problems of ISM in detail. Forwhich, we expect that the thesis can offer some reference for the declining writing ofISM and some experience for rising short message literature.This thesis consists of five parts. The first part defines the concept of SMS andISM, and makes a review and summary about the present studying status of SMS. Thesecond, third and fourth parts select a brand-new perspective of research, with startingmainly with the study of the interests of sense of sight, sense of hearing andperception, which elaborates the interest of ISM in detail through analyzing thecharacteristics of form, sound, vocabulary, grammar, style and rhetoric of ISM. In thefifth part we point out the main values and problems of the present situation of ISM.
