Lately the creative industry is booming in China, but problems pop out at the same time. In order to provide valuable suggetions to China's creative industry development and research, this research, based on the analysis of English literatures of European and American creative industry, uncovers the features and trends of European and American creative industry, discovers their research subjects and topics, and summarises the most inportant theories and outcomes.The basic features of European and American creative industry are as follows: on the aspect of research model, European and American creative has built up a primiative research structure; on the aspect of research subject, reseaches on definition and concept, industry and orgnization, training and education, and reactive city are more popular than topics like policy research and valuation index; on the aspect of research methods, European and American researches apply methods like literature reseach, investigation, interview conprehensively; on the aspect of study outcomes, they have rich results on researches of definition and concept, orgnizational management, training and education, and reactive city, but less outcome on policy research, evaluation index and classification framework. There are three points should be made about their research trends: first of all, transnational research will a new cooperation model; second, the concept of "social network" based on advanced information technology will conisitantly have impact on the developent of creative industry and research; third, the elementalness of "creativity" that penetrates the industrial border will be a debate in the future.Comparing with European and American research, Chinese research have extensive outcomes on theroy research, tactic research, trends analysis and experiences summary, but inadequate research on training and education, organizational management, creative index, data collactions. European and American researches have offer both positive and nagetive referential value to China's industrial development and academic research.
