| During the great transform that Qing Dynasty taking the place of Ming Dynasty, scholar-bureaucrats of the Han nationality underwent quite a tough course of accepting the new regime held by a different race, and it was more complicated to Guangdong locating in the south edge of the empire. During a time of early period of Qing Dynasty, in Guangdong, different forces waved together and fought continuously, so the situation was not clear, and the scholar-bureaucrats wandered between the new regime and the old one. At the same time, with a wait-and-see attitude, part of the scholar-bureaucrats in Guangdong attended the editing of local chronicles of different regions. By this way, they respectively expressed their points to the great transform. Meanwhile, the Official tried to build a logical base of political thought through the editing of local chronicles. The dissertation mainly uses the method of case study, shows the bout of different discourses about series of sensitive topics among the Court, local bureaucrats, people of Ming Dynasty, and so on.The Introduction reviews the relevant studies, and advances the according of choosing the topic and the thought of study, and then the Introduction clears the concepts, and displays the reasons of choosing case study. The text was divided into three parts. The first chapter shows the social ground of the editing of local chronicles of Guangdong during early period of Qing Dynasty, and in the social ground showed the result and the general picture of the editing during this period. The second chapter sets three local chronicles, Local Chronicle of Chaozhou Fu, Local Chronicle of YangShan Town and Local Chronicle of Jiujiang Village of Nanhai, of Shunzhi period, as examples to explain that in Shunzhi period, no matter local bureaucrats or people of Ming, who more or less revealed the vagueness to the former dynasty and the hesitation to situation in local chronicles. The third chapter mainly reviews the long and tough editing course of the General Local Chronicle of Guangdong in Kangxi period. In the process of exploring the identities of the editors, this chapter traces the subtle changing political mind of the people of Ming in this period. The Conclusion is an induction of the dissertation. By the metaphysical method and standing in the position of local chronicles, the Conclusion rethinks about the mental evolvement, whose core was national sentiments set by the scholar-bureaucrats during early period of Qing Dynasty, and it especially analyzes the contribution of local chronicles to the build-up of new royalism during early period of Qing Dynasty. |
