Revision Of Self-esteem Scale

Objective:To revise the Self-esteem Scale for Chinese culture connotation.Methods:Testing the Self-esteem Scale and analyzing its entries,to validate its reliability and validity.Calculating percent of relating and identify index between every entry and the sum score of Self-esteem Scale,and revising entry on this base.Last testing the revised Self-esteem Scale.Result:1.Reliability:αof interaction is 0.736,split half reliability is 0.735,the consistency between entry 8 and the sum score is -0.1407,but the consistency of other entries is significant.Index of identify of entry 8 is -0.05.After Self-esteem Scale is revised,itsαof interaction is 0.835,split half reliability is 0.785.The consistency between entry 8 and the sum score is 0.622.2.Validity:structural validity:to analyse factor of Self-esteem Scale,it has three factors,the percent of interpretion of first two factors is 49.94%.And after it is revised,the percent is 54.04%.The consistency between Self-esteem Scale and the Social Anxiety Scale,the Self Depression Scale is -0.441,-0.523.After it is revised,the consistency is -0.297,-0.521.Conclusion:The revised Self-esteem Scale has good reliability and validity...
