Since the beginning of history, we have made the tools for production and ordinary life to be more artistic and practical by using our own brains.Nowadays, designers use many design methods in manufacturing products to enrich our lives. It is reported by Consuming Times that every year there are 17,000 new products to be introduced into the market in our country while Japan also introduces in their market above 10,000 kinds of new products in one year.Take the color television design center of Matushita electric appliance company as the example, 33 staff introduces over 300 kinds of new product to the market after market research in a year. We find that the definition of the product is also changed with two divisions, i.e.the actual and the virtual.Actually, the product life cycle may become longer. Formerly designers often focus on the "birth" of one product in design while they neglect its growth and development. However, with the appearance of a series of new terms like branding etc., which are playing a more and more important role in consumers' lives, the product life no longer appears so short and designers will spend longer times on product cycle, from the "birth" to the "growth" and "blossom", and ultimately having "fruit".As life cycle extends ,designers need to renew and perfect the design methods. The thesis explores one kind of new design medthed: it takes Interaction as the leading method, and compares product development as the growing process of a plant. But this special "plant" needs the mutual support of story and disposition. And there are three elements requiring attention:the story, the disposition and the interaction, which are also indispensable in the product life cycle .
