In China, the ancient operas and teleplays are the most popular mass art in different historical periods. In ancient, whatever nobility or civilian, could not live without traditional operas in the daily life, thus traditional opera becomes the main ways of recreation and entertainment. Since the formation of the ancient opera during the Song and Yuan dynasties, it has developed for several centuries, till 1960's it has kept the chief variety of the Chinese mass cultural life, and it is known as traditional opera now. While nowadays hundreds sets of teleplay are produced in China each year, with millions of TV audience watching them, which makes teleplay the first choice of the modern mass leisure life mode. The teleplays rapidly spread to almost every family, whether from city or countryside. When the most attractive teleplays are broadcasting on TV, there can even be no one on the street and lanes—the whole family sit together to watch and appreciate one teleplay has formed special scenery of Chinese cultural life. Being one of the best popularized comprehensive arts, the traditional opera has got considerable development, and finally tended to be mature, which provided us profound theory essences and practical experiences in the fields of opera theories, play script, drama performance, opera music, etc. The traditional opera theories, especially the traditional opera play script writing theory is one of the most important parts of the rare intangible culture heritage; therefore it has become our responsibility and obligation to inherit and to develop the essence of the traditional opera play script writing theory. The teleplay industry has experienced a fifty-year development course, and has gained a qualitative leap in both quantity and quality. However, comparing with the high quantity production of the teleplays, the development of teleplay theories is relatively lagging behind. The most important part of the teleplay theories is the teleplay script writing theory, the lagging behind of the teleplay theories is, to a great extent, due to the lagging development of the teleplay script writing theory. In the past fifty years, the teleplay script writing theory has developed a great deal, associated with the development of the teleplay industry; nevertheless, there still has not formed such special system of teleplay script writing theory that has national features. The national features deficiency of China's teleplay script writing theory has become the key point of the research of teleplay script writing theory. As a result, it is now rather imminent for us to enrich the Chinese teleplay script writing theory. The theories of the ancient opera of our country are known as a precious and important treasure of the Chinese national arts heritage of the ancient time, with abundant national features. Taking the nationality, historicity, and sociality in a whole, these theories are the outstanding representative of the Chinese ancient mass art. By enriching the national features of the Chinese teleplay script writing theory, we can better inherit the essence of the ancient opera script theory, construct a teleplay theory system that is abundant of national features, and promote the development of the practice of both the traditional opera and the TV play industry. As the economy develops rapidly, the requests to the TV plays from the audiences keep increasing. To meet the demands of numerous TV audiences, we need not only to pursue higher production in quantity, but to highly emphasize the quality of the TV play as well. The improvement of the quality of TV play, on the one hand, relies on the progress of the television technique, which could enrich the techniques of television manifestation and enhance the art expressive force of TV plays; on the other hand, it depends on the maturation of the teleplay theories, the mature TV play theories could help provide better theoretical support to the development of the TV play practices, and promote the positive development of the TV play industry. The research purpose of this paper is to study the ancient Chinese opera script writing theory, to collect,arrange and analyze the essential thoughts of the ancient opera script writing theory, especially to explore the theoretical achievements in the ancient opera script writing theory, which mainly concerns the national features. By absorbing the achievements in the research of the ancient opera script writing theory, aiming to the present situation of the TV play script theory, based on the factors and features of the ancient opera script writing theory, the author puts forward some thoughts and ideas on the enrichment of the TV play script theory with national features, attempts to help promote the development of China's teleplay theories.
