Through the analysis of Li Zegang's An Introduction to History about historical theory which was published in 1935, this thesis made a preliminary conclusion of its historiography thoughts.The preface mainly introduced all Li Zegang's life and the publication background, meanwhile the fundamental situation of the book An Introduction to History. It also told us the significance of the subject as well as the present researches of the relevant matters.The first part of the body is"the acquaintance with the fundamental matters about History Subject", It summarized some views relevant to Li Zegang's An Introduction to History. Firstly, Li defined"history"as a historical narrative which enters into man's acquainted domain in epistemology perspective, but with some vague points in the thought, Secondly, he established the fundamental relationship of"Science of History"as a relationship between history corpus and history object. And classified historical theory as"Science of History", Thirdly, Li treated"Science of History"equal to natural science to make it hard to escape from Positivist Historiography.The second part of the body expounded upon Li Zegang's"thoughts of historical methodology", Influenced by new historiography current of thought; Li had an extensive perspective of historical materials. Besides, due to"Scientific History"perspective which comes form his positivist historiography, he could break up the close situation between science of history and other subjects. To some extent, Li Zegang accepted the economic history of Marxism. Although with vague acquaintance, he accepted the rational elements from historical materialism and new historiography at the academic mode level, and broke through the barrier between the historical Material School of Marxism historiography and the Textual Criticism School of the new historiography to some degree. Moreover, it also expounded some concrete methods of historical research. The third part of the body mainly expounded Li Zegang's thoughts over historical education. It summations the thoughts on history education in Li's An Introduction to History as well as the relation between his historical view and thoughts on history education on the basis of the arguments in the former two parts. Based on criticizing the traditional function of"science of history", Li Zegang emphasized the function that the science of history serves the reality. In Li's opinion, it was through history education that it could help people to enhance their science consciousness and establish a correct world view. Finally, it concludes some specific methods in history education that provided by Li Zegang in his An Introduction to History.
