Suffering and redemption is the eternal literary motif. In the any stage of history of mankind, people are associated with suffering. In the history literary there always are some books with eternal charms which take shock to human soul and express deep and large suffering. In the dualistic philosophy background, western literature have had a profound sense of tragedy and had the cultural traditions of the tragedy. Tragic sense is based on the profound understanding of human fate, and redemption with tragic sense is the struggle with the fate. In this course, human freedom and the value are realized.In this paper, the structure is divided into four sections. In the first chapter we explained suffering connotation by introducing western theory of tragedy. This paper focused on analysis of the awareness of the suffering and generation of tragedy sense. On this basis, we introduced Jaspers'theory of tragedy to explain the significance of beyond tragedy and how to implement beyond tragedy and redemption. In the second chapter, we described and studied the suffering of New Novels. In the new era of China's stories, from the Scar Literature, Reflect Literature, Root Literature to the new Realism Literature, they all related to the narrative and expression of suffering. In this paper we take for that those sufferings were described from two major dimensions: First, the historic memory of suffering; Second, the common customs suffering experience. In the third chapter, we take the author Yu Hua and Zhang Chengzhi for representative that the two men created two typical representative of the suffering redemption ways: Yu Hua's fiction display a great deal of human suffering, His "live for alive" life philosophy permeated with blood of Chinese traditional culture, is also a representation of the Chinese-style limits; Zhang Chengzhi's religious stories hoped on religion, and abandoned the people's freedom and value realization. Essentially view is illusion transcendence. In the fourth chapter of this paper, we analyzed the two issues: the one is the loss of traditional Chinese culture spirit of the tragic; the other is how to start the construction of the value of suffering for writers of new era.
