The war between Mongolia and Jin which began in 1211 and ended in 1234, involves the war in which Mongolia sent army to and conquered Jin Dynasty.It lasted for 24 years including three periods:Genghis Khan assaulting Jin Dynasty,Muqali and Bolu assaulting Jin Dynasty and(O|")gedei Khanate conquering Jin Dynasty.This article focuses on analyzing the relations between Mongolia and Jin,reflecting the reasons for the victory of Mongolia and the nature,importance and effect of the war.Jin was a feudal country founded by Wanyan family from Nvzhen Tribe,reining the northern part of China with extensive land,rich material,large population and complex races.However,decades of conquering war resulted in poverty both of the country and the people.Robbers were everywhere and people lived a bitter life.Jin faced with financial crisis and so serious inflation to a degree that 10 thousand Guan could not buy a cake.Thus,people of different races stood up against the government while it was declining,in the late time of Jin,the rule of Jin launched war to the tribes of Mongolia in order to overcome the crisis.During 1195 and 1198,the soldiers of Jin killed and grabbed things in their path.For many times they got to the heart part of Mongolia symbolizing the conflict between Jin and Mongolia the main conflict in the race relations and predicting the inevitable war on a larger scale.The reasons why Mongolia won the war are as follows:firstly,the Mongol army had great fighting forces,which was matchless in the world;secondly,Mongolia made good use of all nationalities' human and material resources;thirdly,there was a great militarist and strategist Genghis Khan in Mongolia,who had the ability of prominent leadership,right strategies and tactics,flexible diplomatic policies and so on.The reasons why Jin was defeated are as follows:firstly,the ruling class was gradually corrupted;secondly,Jin is afraid of Mongolia and wanted to compromise with Mongolia;thirdly,the army lacked of energy.There are many arguments about the nature of the war between Mongolia and Jin. This article holds that the war between Mongolia and Jin is an annexing war.Its aim is to conquer its neighboring countries and occupy central China and at last unify the whole China.It is a war of fighting for the power of reining.The war between Mongolia and Jin plays an important part in ancient Chinese history.It promotes the economical and cultural development in Mongolia.It also contributes a lot to the ancient military history.The Mongolian army developed their military strategy from a low level to an advanced level.They learned to use the tactics in central China and gradually grasped the method of conquering and managing cities.They also began to study what weapons should be used in the war.During the war period,the unification of Chinese races was fastened and almost completed.
