Lao She is one of the outstanding language masters in modern Chinese literary history. His works is vivid with natural, smooth, pure and wonderful Beijing dialects. Lao She also had the ability to turn the essence of Beijing dialects into characteristic literary language which has strong Beijing accent in the norms of Chinese grammar.This paper is about Lao She's great works Teahouse which has rich Beijing dialects. In this paper the author made a systematic analysis in terms of words and their features on Teahouse with methods of description, statistics and comparison from the perspective of word classification, use and pragmatics.Chapter 1 Introduction It briefly introduces the current research situation of Teahouse and the current word study on Teahouse and its necessity. On the basis of this the author puts forward the research theories and methods of the paper.Chapter 2 Outlines of the Word Use Through the review and generalization of words used in Teahouse , it sums up the types and special use of words with color of Beijing dialects, including spoken words, types and application of sayings, fixed words being apart , the distribution and application of word omission, and mainly proves its characteristics of spoken language and expounds the style of word use of drama Teahouse.Chapter 3 the Characteristics of Word use Through the observations of word use of Teahouse, it describes and counts separately verb overlaps, adjectives, quantifiers, modal particles, and personal pronouns. And according to the statistics it explains their applying and pragmatic characteristics which confirm the distinctive language style of Teahouse from scientific perspective.Lao She argued that refining spoken language was a painstaking process of labor. The drama Teahouse, with less than 5 million characters is full of short sentences and succinct, lively words, each of which was selected and used thoughtfully by Lao She. And the rich use of variable forms of words accords with that prevailing social linguistic environment.
