The study on compilation of Chinese-as-a-foreign-language textbook plays an importantrole in the development of Teaching Chinese as Foreign Language (TCFL). Textbook is thefoundation of teaching, which provides materials for teaching and learning. Therefore the qualityof a textbook has a direct impact on the success of teaching. A good foreign language textbookshould not only be a reasonably structured with grammars of the target language, but also be ableto reflect the cultures of the target language. This paper intends to investigate and analyze thepragmatic cultures of textbooks in the reproducibility and distribution arrangement based onElementary Spoken Chinese, starting from the relationship between communication cultures andpragmatic cultures, therefore to determine the principles of the contents of pragmatic cultures.The next is to summarize the rules of arrangement of pragmatic cultures, meanwhile come upwith proposals and ideas in order to do some useful complement to the preparation of existingtextbooks of TCFL.
