In the field of translation, it is the most difficult thing to do systematic research on interpretation. Although it is a new field, significant progress has been made in recent years, in which psychological linguistics accounts for a big part, theoretically and practically. This paper tries to review the information processing in interpretation and explore linguistic transformation in such a process on the basis of current theories and carefully selected examples.Popular interpretation theories pay more attention to interpretation itself, like"Theorie du Sens"theory. This paper integrates psychology and linguistics to analyze linguistic cognition and information selection in interpretation. Through exploring psychology and linguistics, conclusions of this paper may be able to help learners to recognize language processing in interpretation and serve as a tool for them to supplement and make additions to current theories. The first part of this paper introduces interpretation briefly and depicts its line of development. Besides, current theories are also introduced and generalized. The second part explores the psychological factors and their biological features in interpretation. Next, comprehension process is analyzed and explored. The third part analyzes the combined function of psychology and linguistics in interpretation. In the fourth part, examples are given to show how to select proper words or characters to express the speaker's implication on the basis of bilingual comparison. The fifth part explores factors related to psychology and linguistics. The last chapter generalizes the whole process of interpretation. Suggestions related to interpretation teaching and interpreter training are presented as well at the end of this paper.
