Limited Royalty is the initial development of Constitutionalism. It is a significant period of the development of Limited Royalty from King John to King Henry VIII. Seven of the Shakespeare's Chronicle Drama rightly reflect the political state of this time. Therefore, it make deeply sense to research the development of Limited Royalty through the perspective of Shakespeare's Chronicle Drama.In this paper, we utilize the history analysis methodology, analyzing the Shakespeare's Chronicle Drama, to research Limited Royalty of Late Middle Ages in England and its development. Shakespeare's Chronicle Dramas are not only the literary works which depict good stories but also the historical memory which record the development of the royalty and the begin of the constitutionalism in England of the Late Middle Ages, describing the narrative events and characters to expose the formation and evolution of the Limited Royalty in England. Limited Royalty start from the period of King John in which nobles force the king to sign the"Magna Carta"to confine the royalty. From this, the royalty in England experiences an tortuous process of strong-to-weak and weak-to-strong.Through Shakespeare's Chronicle Drama, we can observe evolvement of the loyalty and characters of Limited Royalty in England of Late Middle Ages. By extracting the relationship of the characters in the stories, we deliberate on the impacts of the factors of legislation,"Parliament"and Church on loyalty and bring up that these impacts are very insufficient, the king often surpasses it. In this paper, we reveal the antagonistic and cooperative relationship between nobles and kings, furthermore, the Limited Royalty is essentially the conflicts and restrictions between them; it is the nobles possessing the strength which can really limit the power of the king. The king governs the nobles and his dominance is limited by the nobles. The conflicts and cooperation between the kings and the nobles actuate the significant historical change of monarchy of England in Late Middle Ages and bring out the constitutionalism.
