The Histhory And Present Situation Analysis Of Eastern Orthodoxy In Xinjiang

The Xinjiang Eastern Orthodoxy is the Chinese Russian ethnic group Eastern Orthodoxy's important component, is also parts of Xinjiang's multi-religion suituation. Since long, the academia lacks the research and investigation of comprehensive and systemetic Xinjiang Eastern Orthodoxy history and present situation. Based on social investigation, methods and means available such as holding symposium, individual interview, field survey, comparative analysis, this article tries hard to conducts more thorough research to the Xinjiang Eastern Orthodoxy unique development change path and its characteristic.This article believed that the history of Eastern Orthodoxy in Xinjiang can be divided into four periods: introduction, the slow development, prosperity and decline. The origin of disciple can be classified as religious immigration, business migration, war immigration, the famine immigration and political immigrates."Emigrant church"is the character of Xinjiang Eastern Orthodoxy in history.According to thorough investigation of the present Xinjiang Eastern Orthodoxy, the author believes that in the past two centuries, besides Russian ethnic group maintains its ethnic characteristic and the regional distribution characteristic, there appears some new change and formes new characteristic such as the component of disciple changes from entire group to just the second generation, the old-age Russian ethnic group. The religion becomes a not all ethnic group involved religion, the difference of generation gap formed. Generally the consciousness of Xinjiang Eastern Orthodoxy follows by generation but slowly faded. Eastern Orthodoxy's religious festival popularized, brings less influence to Xinjiang Russian ethnic group's daily life, but approves as one of the symbolization of its group, the inheritance and the showing of ethnic culture, the construction of nationality polymerization platform's significance are being strengthened by the Xinjiang Eastern Orthodoxy disciples. At present, the Xinjiang Eastern Orthodoxy also faces some concrete problems, the reasonable solution to these problems will bring comtribution to promote Xinjiang Russian ethnic group people's enthusiasm and the construction of harmonious Xinjiang.Regarding the above viewpoints, the article divides into the following three parts,The first part outlines Eastern Orthodoxy in Xinjiang's history. Based on the characteristic of Russian ethnic group's immigration, its history were divided into four historical periods. The second part states the Xinjiang Eastern Orthodoxy's present situation. The author discussed its point of view from disciples basic situation ,religious activity site, the religious sect and influence four aspects. The third partpoints out Xinjiang Eastern Orthodoxy extant question and enlightenment.
