"The Ta′rikh-i-Rashidi", namely"A History of the Moghuls of Central Asia",a historical works written in Persian by a Kashgharian called Mirza Muhammad Haidar in 16th century. It ranges from the era of Genghis Khan of Mongolia to Abdur Rashidi Khan's coming to crown, with more detailed narration after Tughluk Timur Khan become the kong, meanwhile, it covers an area of Turfan, Hami to the east, Central Asia and Afghanistan to the west, and Altai mountain to the north as well as stretching across the Pamirs till the north of India. The book mainly focuses on the latter kings of Chaghatai ruling in the Western Region, concerning on the historical issues of Chaghatai, Uzbeg, Jilijisai and Kalmaks and other kings from different nationalities."the Ta′rikh-i-Rashidi", whose author ,was born in a noble family, participated the state governing from his childhood, recorded his comtemparary historical events and had a better and clearer understanding for social situation of his times, thus,it is a quite collection of reliable historical materials. In addition, because no other books were discovered the same era as"The Ta′rikh-i-Rashidi"did, this book was highly rated as"the only historical materials on the Black Era(1347—1542) in the history of Central Asia". Although"The Ta′rikh-i-Rashidi"was often grated for its historical materials, the academic school did far less research on it so that it didn`t arouse much concern or attention and its contents related to culture history, philosophy history, religion history, and ethnic history had not been used fully or sufficiently .On the other aspect,"The Ta′rikh-i-Rashidi"had not been thoroughly analysed. In that case, even though some scholars have pointed out, there are still mistakes or prejudice remaining to be settled by later researchers. Apart from the shortcoming of itself, British editor, did contribute greatly in his preface of the English version, however, due to the limited using of historical material in Chinese, N.Elias, did compare with the contents in two version, causing his erroes which remain to be solved or corrected by later scholars, for the comments in his preface may prevent readers from getting a correct understanding of"The Ta′rikh-i-Rashidi".Consequently, based on the results completed by N.Elias and others, I would like to combine the research works of the last century in the Academiay, and evaluate"The Ta′rikh-i-Rashidi"again, make a further research into the status of the influence on the western regions of this book in Yuan Dynasty .Contrasted with Chinese historical materials at the same period, my essay will list the mistakes and the prejudice existing in"The Ta′rikh-i-Rashidi", and recover some important hidden historical event as well as interpreting some concepts in the preface written by N.Elias.
