One person, one book, one tradition. As a great ideologist,Confucius set up a great tradition. As a classical source of this tradition,The Analects nourished us thousands of years, giving us endless power. It need to be read in any age,but taking a risk in any time.Reread it,needing classical eyes;reread it,searching for a prescription for modern symptoms. In this way,we are on the road.I study the phenomena of quoting The book of Songs in The Analects with a political and ethical view of classical poetics. The thesis falls into two parts.I study Confucius' attitude of the history tradition in Chapter 1.Between ancient and modern, between narration and creation, between learning and thinking, what is the criterion of his values? what does he choose? Chapter 2 falls into four parts, politics and ethics:poetic cultivation, horror and tremble:watching one's life, carve and polish:cultivating virtue, perfecting himself and others:the far way of a superior man.
