In the early period,"Shi"(the Book of Songs)was a part of Music enlightenment(yuejiao ??),but with the change of propagation mode and social function of it,"Shi" gradually got rid of the shackles of music and ritual, and gained its independent status.Confucius' s arrangement of "Shi" is also based on the trajectory of separation of "Shi" and music.Quoting "Shi" in the Analects is the inheritance and development of tradition, and can be divided into four categories:quoting for study, for self-cultivation,for commentary and for advise.Compared with the Spring and Autumn Period, the theme of quoting "Shi" in the Analects has turned from politics to academy. The biggest characteristic of quoting "Shi" in the Analects is combining poetics with the idea of self-cultivation,and the poetics became an important part of thoughts of Confucius. The key of poetics in the Analects can be described as "Having no depraved thoughts"(???),which is the unity of disposition truth(????)and disposition correction(????):the truth is the starting point, while the correction is the end;from the truth to the correction is the core of the Confucius poetics."Having no depraved thoughts" can be expressed as "starting from emotion, stopping on ritual",its fundamental spirit is "due medium",and connecting with the benevolence.Confucius affirmed the expression of disposition truth, while required behavior in line with the norms of rite and ceremony;emotion and ritual coordination is always the key issues of Confucius poetry. Therefore,"restrain oneself and abide by rites"(????)is not the elimination or prohibition of emotion, but the satisfaction and expression of humanity in a mean way under the norms of rite and ceremony. This is the essence of benevolence, but also the fundamental connection between"Shi"and benevolence."Having no depraved thoughts" determines poetic function of disposition as the center, benevolence as the fundamental. In terms of personality cultivation,Chapter 17.9 is a complete expression of the functions and values of emotion, will and knowledge. In terms of social interaction,Confucius once said "If you do not learn the'Shi',you will not be fit to converse with." It shows the "Shi" can enhance the moral quality and rhetorical skills of our language. In terms of political ideals, the expression of"the ambition of Zengdian"(????)is itself a poem, which shows that Confucius' political ideal is to let each individual restore human nature.
