Character Art Of Visual Design Research

Chinese character is one of the oldest characters in the world.It,as the only existing pictograph and rich in connotation,shows the unique and charming oriental ocular art.Chinese charater is the typical representative of chinese classic art;refering to the visual art of chinese,the magnificent handwrting and and great stone inscription appear underconciousnessly in front of eyes.All these handwritings and stone inscriptions tell the whole world that chinese charaters are the fruite in the artistic world.Today with the development of art design,various ways and forms has beeen improving greatly.Because of the intervention of western culture,charater design has already lost its resplendence and from this point we can see our own weakpoints that we did not explore and understand our excellent traditional cultural completely and profoundly.Chinese charater,as one of chinese traditional treasure,has more room to improve or explore both from cultural connotation and visisual extension.On one hand,calligraphy theory of chinese charater has many profounding understanding and reference for charater design;on the other hand,because of implied meaning of china traditional culture and over sensibility of oriental art,therefore in the course of the development of contemporary charater design we should also absorb various western theory.So according to the principle "western theory for reference and oriental theory for application",by comparing these two theories,we should combine these two together and make complements for each other in order to search a better theoretical ground for character design.This thesis discusses the basic concepts of the art of Chinese characters, design evolution,the structure of space and the related theories of designing modern character in details.This thesis combined the ideas of plastic arts in the theory of western designing,summed up a number of rules of the Chinese art of calligraphy in the traditional shape,such as the squares of the applications,the number of strokes with the blank space,as well as the structural analysis of Chinese characters. Contained in these rules is the traditional theory of the crystallization of calligraphy. The author believed that it would be helpful to the development of the characters by combining these theories and modern designing.This thesis made a systematical study of the specific visual plastic arts of Chinese characters from the perspective of the School of Design of Chinese characters from art design principles to analyze the design and specifications of the application system of Chinese characters,and to explore patterns and modern Chinese design and the integration of traditional Chinese culture of Road.The author hopes to find a suitable solution of the development of Chinese characters under the digital media and make a helpful study on applications of the Chinese characters culture in the field of visual communication designs by understanding of the diversity of the beauty in Chinese characters and concerning the direction of the development of Chinese art designing.
