With China's integration into the global economy and the increasing exchanges around the world,more and more Chinese companies began to be involved in the global market to seek great market.Company name plays a key role in entering the international market.Whether a translated name is proper or not,has an influence on its corporation image and its globalization.Collecting the Top 500 Chinese company names and their English translations,by means of qualitative and quantitative approaches,the author intended to probe into the effective ways to translate company names based on the Adaptation Theory and Corporation Identity System.Through the analysis of 500 samples,the research of this thesis has reached the following conclusions:(1) In the current market,the frequent translation strategies are transliteration, literal translation,free translation and zero translation.(2) With the guidance of Adaptation Theory,the author came up with an adaptation model of company name translation.Company name translation should not only adapt to the language conventions of the target market,but also to the social background and physical world.(3) In order to establish a good corporate image and effective corporation identity system,the author tried to provide some solutions to the different adaptation errors.
