| The company profile is one of the important means of company publicity,playing an important role in setting up company image and enhancing company competition.This report is based on two company profiles received by the translator during the internship.This report describes and analyzes the process of this C-E translation practice,and makes a summary and reflection on this translation practice.According to Verschueren’s Adaptation Theory,language use is a process of making continuous choices.For the translation of company profiles,it is also necessary to make appropriate choices between the source language and the target language in order to adapt to the language structure and language factors of the target readers.Therefore,the translator applied translation techniques such as omission,combination and shift on the basis of accuracy and fluency in order to reflect the adaptation of the target text from two angles:contextual correlates of adaptability,structural objects of adaptability.This report first introduces the background of the translation task and the significance of this report.Secondly,the source text is analyzed from lexical,syntactic and textual levels.Next,the translation process of this task is described in detail,including the preparation of the background knowledge of the translation task,the introduction of translation tools,resources and parallel texts,the overview of translation theory,the formulation of translation plan and glossary.While translation is composed of quality control and process description.Quality control mainly describes the guarantee of the quality of translation.After translation includes self-evaluation,evaluation from the peer and the entrusting party.Moreover,according to the features of the source text,typical cases are analyzed combing Adaptation Theory.In conclusion,the translator made a summary of the difficulties and experiences encountered in the translation practice.The translator should communicate and cooperate with the professionals involved in the translation of the text,make full preparation and constantly correct the text after the translation.Finally,it summarizes the implication and limitation of the translation practice in the hope of better applying the theory to practice and improving translation ability in the future. |
