《Jie Gu Lu》is well-known as a recorded book published in the Tang Dynasty. Through my examination of this book I am able to see the unique characterisics of the JieGu instrument in playing QuiCi style music and conclude that the religion and culture of Buddhist music strongly influenced the QiuCi music of the Tang Dynasty.Since Tang Dynasty is seen as the ancient orgin for much of traditional Chinese culture it is apparent that Buddhism's impact is significant on much of the China's artistic, social, and cultural forms. My survey of other research and studies also supports this view of Buddhism's impact on China art and culture. This dissertation has several components:The first chapter introduces "The Historical Records of JieGu"《Jie Gu Lu》and QiuCi style music. The Chapter describes the content of《Jie Gu Lu》and what is the relationship between the instrument and QiuCi music. The second chapter looks at recorded JieGu and Buddhist music mainly through the analysis of some 132 pieces of music. It becomes clear as the names of the music played on the JieGu that Buddhism was inextricably linked to music. In the third chapter I discuss and analyze opinions and perspectives of many other studies regarding Buddhist music and its influence on Chinese culture.Even though many experts have considered this topic I feel more research is needed. In the conclusion I state which view point is most logical and resonates most for me.In short, before the Buddhist music is music culture on the impact of the Central Plains this regard, some experts put forward their views, but in general, this apparent lack of concern, this article by analyzing the various viewpoints on this issue to find the most reasoned view.
