The Impact Of Working Memory Span On False Memory

This characteristic of memory makes the study of false memory has become an indispensable research aspects of memory.In this study, Stadler, Roediger and McDermott (1999) study of the 12 words out of the 12 words as the experimental materials, experimental design are as follows: Experiment 1 to explore the verbal working memory span, warning tips and the number of study the impact of the False Memory using 2 (high verbal working memory span, and low verbal working memory span)×2 (warning there is prompt, no prompt warning)×2 (repeat study 2 times ,4 times duplicate study) mixed experimental design of three factors, verbal working memory span and warning between subjects factor, the number of repeat study within subjects factors.Two experiments to explore spatial working memory span, warning and the number of duplicate study the impact of the False Memory,using the 2 (high spatial-working memory, low spatial-working memory span)×2 (warning has prompted ,no warning prompt)×2 (Repeat 2 times study, repeat study 4 times) mixed experimental design of three factors, spatial-working memory span and warning between subjects factors, the number of repeat study within subjects factors.The results show that: the level of verbal working memory span individuals in recognition error rate, there was a significant difference between high verbal working memory span was an error recognition test was significantly less than the low verbal working memory span subjects; study with the increase in the number of duplicate , the error recognition rate low; at conditions there is an early warning prompted by the test error rate lower than the non-recognition of early warning of the error under the conditions of recognition rate.
