The working memory is a memory system of temporary processing and storage of information with limited capacity. The capacity of working memory makes differences in the efficiency of information processing and thus has a direct bearing on one's work performance. As an important index of the evaluation on working memory, the working memory span involves various method of test. Therefore, we adopted digit working memory span as a way of the test on the working memory span based on the hypothesis that emotion and age will influence the span of digit working memory. In order to verify this hypothesis, three studies are done. The age of the participants ranges from 10 to over 20. In the first study, we selected students of different age span(10-12 years old,13-15 years old,16-19 years old, over 20 years old), and let them have full practice on the computer operation in advance. In half a month we got digit working memory span baseline twice, and made investigation on the baseline of the development pattern of students in line with the average value, at the same time got ready for the later research. In the second Study, we adopted mixed experimental design to get students'effective priming through watching different short video clips. And then let the participants evaluate their own emotional state and test their digit working memory span consequently. After the test the participants are still required to evaluate their own feelings and emotions so as to ensure the emotional state are kept in the process of the test. This study is relatively innovative because it combined several factors such as emotion and age and made a survey on their influence on digit working memory span. In the third Study, we divided the participants in the second study group into several groups by the level of emotional feelings they evaluated, and testify the significance of differences of the digit working memory span with different levels of similar emotion. Proceeding from this point, this study is, in a sense, in the frontier fields. We adopt spss16.0 to run analysis of variance, Independent T Test, Post hoc tests and so on. The results are as follows:Firstly, in the low-age students, there is a tendency of growth of the digit working memory span with the increase of students'age, and attained its peak in the 16-19-year-old group, and then lowered with the age growth. Secondly, positive emotions such as happiness and proud broadened the students'span of digit working memory while the differences of the digit working memory span are implicit with such two types of emotion. Thirdly, sorrow and angry reduced the students'span of digit working memory but the differences on digit working experience span are also obscure. Fourthly, the different level of the emotional state had different influence on the working memory. Medium or above average feelings enjoyed the maximum enlargement on the digit working memory span with happiness and proud whereas the feelings with sadness and anger showed a negative correlation with the digit working memory span.
