In 1990s, Tsui Hark, along with his movie works reached the summit of his career development. Those excellent shootings brought tremendous influence to Hong Kong movie industry, even to the whole Chinese movies. And the 90s was marked with"The era of Tsui Hark"as his chivalrous-swordsman films again hit a new upsurge of this movie type. This essay takes the movie Huang Feihong which links two of his creating periods as the research issue, focus on the interpretation of movie scenario with the purpose of analyzing and exploring Tsui Hark 's creating thinking and art orientation. The whole essay covers films related to Huang Feihong, generates external circumstances when Tsui Hark directed his Huang Feihong. It organizes internal developing logic of 6 movies, attempts for the first time to research the scenario in diachronic way. Also comparisons are made between this film and other ones of similar period in synchronic way, which displays the transformation and development of Tsui Hark's creating minds within the seven years during which he created Huang Feihong. Contents of this essay mainly include: Section one—Summary of movies related to Huang Feihong and Tsui'Hark s. Section two—Internal relationship of troubled times and Tsui Hark's Huang Feihong. Section three—The creation of knight-errant's modern image and Tsui Hark's succession and development of swordsman culture.
