The Development Of Filial Piety And Righteousness Culture In Qing Dynasty

Filial Piety and Righteousness culture is the core of Chinese traditional culture. Filial Piety and Righteousness culture in the Qing Dynasty have been given a new content and features. This thesis tries to analyze the development and changing of this culture in Qing dynasty, focusing on the aspects such as the national system, social policy, law and social customs which include the contents of Filial Piety and Righteousness culture.This thesis consists five chapters, The first chapter introduces the ordinance of National policies, laws and regulations in the Qing Dynasty about Filial Piety and Righteousness, with emphasis on the setup and propagation of《The sacred edict》and the resulting standardization of Ruled by Filial Piety in Qing dynasty. In the second third and fourth chapter, the presentations and developments of this culture in family education,school education, examinations and social customs are discussed respectively. The fifth chapter concludes the characteristics of Filial Piety and Righteous culture in Qing dynasty, with focus on the detailed study in the events recorded in《Qing Dynasty History·Fidelity Biography》and comparison analysis of them with those in Ming records,and want to provide a reference for the editing of new《Qing Dynasty History·Filiality Biography》.
