As an excellent female writer, Tiening created a quantity of works for the sake of life care and love. From the late 1970's to 80's, her works are almost short stories, which have the same theme that humanity is good. From the late 1980's to the early 90's, the theme of her novels changed, from the praise for the nice humanity to exposure of the evil humanity. Until the late 90's last century, Tiening's writing style developed fully. The change of the theme in Tiening's novels appears to expose the evil humanityinstead of the praise for it, and in fact its core theme--praise for kindness never changes. In Tiening's eyes, to expose the evilness means rethinking for humanity, and by this way Tiening hopes to establish much more healthy and more reasonable organizations will be founded in the society after continuous rethinking and accordingly human beings in it all have much more healthy mood. Therefore beyond series of her works exposing evil humanity, we can perceive the author's care for the life.According to the views above, this thesis plans to analyze Tiening's novels on the whole from the angle of humanity。The thesis is divided into three parts.Chapter one: The starting point of the nice humanity. The nice humanity is the starting point in Tiening's early works, such as Oh, Sweet Snow, in which the author praises the nice humanity straight, while The Red Blouse without Button goes further in describing the humanity, which shows the self-awareness of the individual and rethinking for the negative factors in traditional culture save the praise for humanity. Tiening created several characters in the novels How Far is Forever and The Lonely Change, by whom the author praised the tough spirit and righteous personality. The works reflected the author's lasting yearning for the nice humanity.Chapter II Kindness and evilness twisted--thinking over humanity. With theaccumulation of the author's experience, Tiening began to describe the absurdity and helplessness in the life through the complex society instead of describing nice humanity only. With the humanity issue discussed deeply, the author paid much attention to the negative effect that the traditional culture had on the humanity and thought over the distorted humanity under the great pressure. The Three Piles and The Rose Door are the main representative. Tiening's another novel called The Great Bathing Woman is a classical work exposing the salvation and purification of the humanity.Chapter III The cause of the author's recognition for humanity. After publishing Oh, Sweet Snow, Tiening began to change her gentle and soft writing style and turned to focus on the society, especially The three Piles, The Rose Door and The Great Bathing Woman etc. they all carried the obvious and strong social content. Why did the author change so much? On the one hand, it is the inner requirement of the author's recognition for humanity; on the other hand, it is because of the imaginative construction between the author and readers.
