The paper aims to plan a series of counseling projects about the main interpersonal relationship and some practical questions of left-behind children in rural China. Through providing left-behind children in rural China with group counseling of their self-awareness, emotional control, relationship between schoolmates and relationship between teachers and students, we hope to improve their social adaptability.In the research, we selected two first-grade natural classes from Mingtan Junior High School of Hanshou County in Hunan Province. Experimental group and control group were equally assigned to do experiment one after another. The two groups were accepted two tests. Members from the experimental group were provided with counseling for 3 months, 11 times altogether while during the time the control group was not provided any counseling. In the research, the independent variable is group counseling and the dependent variable is social adaptability. After the experimental group were accepted counseling, we could know the social adaptability from scores in the scale of junior high school students. Conclusion can be arrived through repeatedly analyzing two factors and two level of variance.The result shows:Obviously, students' motivity, ability, vigor, sense of trust, social adaptability, altruistic tendency, self-control and challenge from the experimental class have been improved within 24 small factors while there was not any change about those from the control group. Meanwhile students' self-confidence, flexibility and gregariousness from the experimental and control class also have been improved clearly within interfered time. Students' autonomy from the experimental and control class has been depressed notably but their sense of control and optimistic tendency were comparatively stable and there was not any change.We found no change about the students' sense of psychological advantages from the experimental and control class. Students' mental capacity, interpersonal relationship and mental flexibility from the experimental group have been improved clearly but not about the control group.We can see obviously from the total scores of social adaptability that the experimental class has been improved but the control class has not.In a word, group counseling can enhance social adaptability of left-behind children from the country. The project is applicable and feasible in the country schools. |
