Ode To Love And Beauty

Peng Yanjiao Peng is a miracle in Chinese Contemporary Literature History. In the past 70 years of his literary career, he never stopped producing and had written a great amount of poetries embodied with a sense of purity, modesty and passion, which has won the readers with respect and love. Love and beauty, as if the piety to the religion, are forever the theme of all his works. Whilst "Love" is the emotional grounding of his works, "beauty" is his lifelong pursuit. This paper therefore is focus on to inspect the true meaning of love and beauty in the poetries of Peng Yanjiao.This paper consists of two parts. The first part, by tracing back Peng's life experiences, is to reveal his suffering however faithful pilgrim program of poetry, from suffering to salvation and finally love which exhibited on the one hand as baptism and salvation, on the other hand as excruciation, struggle, transcending and the extreme love. The second part analyses the beauty embodied in Peng's works, by exploring the sense of nature, color and music among his verses, and to bring forth the readers a pure world of poetry and the most sensitive and sincere heart of the poet.
