Yan Lianke's novels establish a new school in the contemporary novels, which shape a lot of many ordinary people in the rural area, the cultural identity behind their concentrated carries the cultural connotation of Yan Lianke's novels. Based on Yan Lianke's local novels, we try to explore the value of the "local nature" as the point to the text constitutes, to grasp its significance for the thinking of the countryman and its inherent cultural connotation, and thus to explore the value of Yan Lianke's local novels in the Chinese Contemporary Literature.Yan Lianke spares no effort to show the local people, more than the rich character of their differences, but also reveal a certain degree of local culture in common. The nature of simple and sly, stubborn and tenacious are the common characteristics to the people surviving in the Central Plains, which show strong characteristics of local culture in western Henan, from which we can pry into the writer's thinking of the boorish cultural character. However, the common culrural characteristics of the native people can not conceal culture the nature of people's personality, there are two contrasting characters his novels: the male image of coexistance in outing and sticking and the female image of compare in lingering and firming. Through this, Yan Lianke wants to express his thinking about the local culture under the changing modern economy system, not only does he chrish the traditional virtues, but also he views the modem transformation actively.Another worthy of our attention is that at Yan Lianke discribed, the local people are mostly struggling in a state of "suffering", "suffering" is the ground colour for the native survival people. Their dignity has been trampled, feelings have been distorted, even the custom has become the shackles of their lives. So, we can make further probing of Yan Lianke's reflection about the Chinese countryman, with the hope that the local people in the suffering can rescue themselves. Yan Lianke's unique pursuit in taking the local people as a viewing center of the cultural values in the contemporary literary scene in China, shows the author a strong sense of social responsibility and humanistic concern.
