The Experimental Analysis Of Tone In Yangxi, Xinhua Dialect

This dissertation tries to stuy the tone in Yangxi,Xinhua dialect with the methods of experimental phonetics. The full dissertation is divided into three chapters.The chapter one introduces the research of Status and phonology in Yangxi,Xinhua dialect, the research of experimental phonetics, the purpose of this study and significance, as well as the theoretical basis for this study.Chapter two is the main part of the full dissertation, is to study the pitch of Yangxi,Xinhua dialect. First of all, get 11 F0 at 11 time points through pratt, and then convert each F0 into the Lz value and the RD value, then made tone curve to examine the pitch, finally tone-value of the tone reached. The tone-value of all tones in Yangxi,Xinhua dialect are yingping 33, yangping 13,shangsheng 22,qusheng 45, rusheng 14.Chapter three studies the duration of Yangxi,Xinhua dialect.This dissertion convert absolute duration into normalized duration, based on the normalized duration,an inspection was found by comparing the tone : the longest tone is rusheng ,the shortest tone isqusheng,the pronouncing of yingping, yangping, shangsheng nearly lasts the same duration. The yangping is very close with the rusheng in many aspect, the author speculated that the length of time is the difference between their main characteristics. Comparing the outcome of the traditional dialect with experimental results, we can find that the results of the traditional dialect records well in the most prominent characteristics,and the actual value is not accurate enough. ;Using the way of experimental Phonetics in the actual Language investigation is accurate, but it is relatively cumbersome. it can't do the large-scale investigation, so we can use the ways of experimental phonetics and traditional phonetics in Language investigation, and combine their advantage together.
