On Mencius' Theory Of The Original Goodness Of Human Nature

Mencius'theory of the original goodness of human nature is the most important part in his philosophical system, It's the ground of his moral thought and political thought. So analyzing the meaning of Mencius'theory of the human nature is very important for understanding his theory of mind &human nature.This thesis discusses the development of the meaning of human nature and the systematical debate between Mencius and Gaozi.It analyzes the fundamental meaning of Mencius'theory of the human nature at the view of the"four beginning"of human heartedness, righteousness, propriety and wisdom, and then discusses its practical signification. The whole dissertation consisted of two parts: the preface and the text, and the main body is divided into three chapters:Chapter one, analyzes the development of the meaning of human nature based on its original meaning.Chapter two, analyzes Mencius'theory of the human nature and his debate with Gaozi.Chapter three, analyzes the practical signification of Mencius'theory of the human nature.
