| Emotional Labor means that one adjusts and manages his own feeing at work in order to express specific emotion which the organization needs. As to elementary and middle school teachers, the emotional labour not only affects their physical and moral integrity, work achievements, but also has tremendous influence on students'physical and mental integrity. Therefore, teachers'emotional labor research is precisely based on the humanities concern and the care of teachers'internal needs.In this research we chose 509 elementary and middle school teachers form Jiangsu, Chongqing, Shandong and Sichuan provinces as our research objects. Firstly, we developed the Scale of Teachers'Emotional Labor which has satisfying reliability and validity. Secondly, we explored the structure and features of Teachers'Emotional Labor, Thirdly, we analysed the relationship between Emotional Labor, Emotional Intelligence, Social Support and Emotional Exhaustion. Our research results are as follows.1. Elementary and middle school teachers'emotional labour includes four dimensions, Deliberative Dissonance Action, Surface Acting, Active Deep Acting and Passive Deep Acting.2. The teachers use Passive Deep Action and Active Deep Action most, Surface Action least.Gender, qualification, school location, the number of teaching class have significant main effect on Teachers'Emotional Labor. Age, whether a class sponsor have no significant main effect on Teachers'Emotional Labor.4. Emotional intelligence and Social Support are positively correlated to Emotional Labor. Emotional intelligence and Social Support are negatively correlated to Emotional Exhaustion. Passive Deep Action and Active Deep Action are negatively correlated to Emotional Exhaustion. Deliberative Dissonance Action and Surface Action are not related to Emotional Exhaustion.5. Emotional application, Emotional self-aware and Social Support can differenently predict Deliberative Dissonance Action and Active Deep Action. Emotional Self-aware, Emotional Management, Emotional Application can significantly predict Passive Deep Action. Social Support and Emotional Application can significantly predict Aurface Action.To sum up, this research analysed Emotional Labor of Elementary and Middle School Teachers by multi-methods from multi-angles. We bring Emotional Labor study from the field of organizational behavior into the teacher's psychology and carry out the qualitative research based on the characteristics of Chinese culture. Future study needs to control the other variables strictly in order to make sure"pure"relationship, or add these variables in the study and establish more complex models. |
