| Civil servants,as a special group, have got great attention in modern society, which can be proved by the "civil servant fever" coming up in recent years.Recently there are more and more researches on civil servants, including their work performance, role pressure, job burnout, mental health, and so on.With the development of the society, civil servants suffer more and more self pressure because of the particularity of the job content of them and the increasing demands of the community for them. Therefore,in view of this phenomenon,622 civil servants from directly affiliated departments of the state and the township/street level in Fujian Province were selected as the survey samples.A questionnaire survey was conducted with the research tools of perceived organizational support(POS),emotional exhaustion(EE)and role stress(RS)scale.Using the software SPSS22.0,622 effective questionnaires were collected and analyzed, and the conclusions are as follows:(1)Civil servants feel a not strong enough sense of organizational support in their work department. They feel emotionally exhausted in their work.(2)Demographic variables will influence civil servants’ perceived organizational support, emotional exhaustion and role stress in the following aspects.① Demographic variables such as gender, age, education, job seniority, department nature and monthly income have no significant influence on perceived organizational support, emotional exhaustion and role stress.② The influence of ranks on civil servants’ perceived organizational support and emotional exhaustion is significant, but the effect on role pressure is not significant.③ The level of each department has a significant impact on the role pressure of civil servants, but it has little impact on perceived organizational support and emotional exhaustion.(3)There is a significant negative correlation between civil servants’ perceived organizational support and emotional exhaustion, and perceived organizational support plays a predictive role in emotional exhaustion.(4)The role pressure of civil servants is positively correlated with emotional exhaustion, and role stress is a predictor of emotional exhaustion.(5)Role stress plays a regulatory role in the relationship between perceived organizational support and emotional exhaustion, and the higher the role pressure is,the weaker the effect of perceived organizational support on emotional exhaustion.Based on the above findings, this paper provides effective evidence and valuable inspiration for civil servants’ emotional exhaustion management. |
