The Comparative Study Of "Taishigong Comments" And "Yishishi Comments"

Although "the Historical Records" and "Strange Tales from a lonely Studio" have a long history between themselves and belong to different literature styles,the common point is the picaresque common manner -- "Taishigong comments" and "Yishishi comments",which is independent of story lines and comes into being an integrity system.Their literature status can't be substituted.By comparing the two kinds of comments,not only can we have a deeper understanding of the writers' life experiences,create psychologies,writing skills and the characters of the times,but also analyze the literature course between history record and fiction thoroughly.The writer tries to do a comparative study of "Taishigong comments" and "Yishishi comments" from autobiographies,comment contents,essences and art characters.Moreover,the paper can analyze the differences formed by writers' status, the times and psychologies.There are three chapters in this paper,as follows:The first chapter gives a brief description of the same respects of the two comments from names to essences.It reaches the conclusion that Pu Songling's aspiration to refer to "Taishigong comments" as a reference and his consciousness as a fiction writer.However,the course of literature makes many differences between them. The autobiographies include the succession of creating spirits,but embody the discrepancies of the support of vitality,the origin of family knowledge,and so on.The second chapter deliberates the theme content of comments.The two comments both talk about "types of able people","criteria of appraising able people", and "methods of getting along with emperor".They both reveal the contradictory "conception of date",which embodies Si Maqian's disillusion and Pu Songling's persuading others to become kind,and both advocate the errantry,affirm the vengeance.Additionally,the latter comes forth some new kinds of vengeance.The third chapter dissertates the art characters of the two comments.They both have feelings of miracle,both bemoan the state of the universe and pity the fate of humankind,both own the same narrative characters and both express their flaming emotions with flowing patterns of sentences and multiplex rhetoric.
