The Study On Bi-ji Of The Tang Dynasty

As a literary style,Bi-ji(Official writings in the Hall or on the Wall) has its process of the development.It can be derived from the Pre-Qin dynasty and Western and Eastern Han dynasties,and emerged in the WeiJin and Six-dynasties.Bi-ji is prosperous in the Tang dynasty.As a chronicle prose,it is also a kind of government agencies text with "the wall"carrying "records".Characterized by creation and value, Bi-ji takes high rank in the Tang dynasty even the history of the prose.This text studies Bi-ji of the Tang dynasty from five aspects:the source and development,the definition and characteristics,cultural implication,function and value,the reasons for the prosperity.The thesis consists of three parts:the preface,the body and the conclusion.Then, the index of Biji articles of the Tang dynasty is attached in the end. In the preface,firstly arrange the articles of Bi-ji in the collections and individuals after the Tang dynasty.Secondly,briefly introduce the basic characteristic and research present situation of Bi-ji and then propose the significance for choosing such a topic.There are four chapters in the body:The first chapter,the source and development of Bi-ji.Regarding ages as through, it is divided into three periods:it can be derived from the Pre-Qin dynasty and Western and Eastern Han dynasties,and emerged in the WeiJin and Six-dynasties.The Tang dynasty is a ripe period.The second chapter,the definition,characteristic and cultural implication of the Tang dynasty's Bi-ji.There are four features to illustrate:Consistency in creation of system,restriction in creation of carrier,particularity in creation of body and function in creation of purpose.Then,from two aspects to illustrate the culture implication: one is depositional traditional culture effects by Chun Qiu.The other one is learning from the culture of history.Moreover,Bi-ji also contains components which deviated from traditional culture.In the third chapter,function and value of Bi-ji.(1) Function of social propagation. The writing on the wall is used as a literature artistic method of creation out of the ordinary,having also the special propagation function with value.(2) Literature value. Bi-ji don't have only literature material value but also has high literature art value.(3) Historical value.It is a mini official history in the Tang dynasty's ordinances system. It plays an important role in literature and history for describing the officials.It can be called Geography in describing topographies,monutains,custom,products and cities. Some political and ecomonical activities are referred.The fourth chapter,the reasons for the prosperity of the Tang dynasty's Bi-ji.It is related to complicated social background and literature factors:The upper level political power promotes,the officialdom choosing and assessment get to systematize and the consciousness of writing on the wall.The conclusion part generalizes the value of the Tang dynasty's Bi-ji and the significance in the prose history.
