On Space Mage Mood Of Gongxian's Landscape Panting

Gong Xian(1618--1689),the representative Chinese artist in Jinlin(Nanjing) in the seventeenth century, lived a impoverished life in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties change period. In addition to achievements in poetry,Gong Xian contributed mainly to landscape paintings.Gong Xian was mainly inspired by the impact of a combination of different opinions from Dong Qichang,and along his line of thought ,he explored the merits of ancient landscapes inventively.Gong Xian learned from the ancients but did not copy them. He stressed the nature of art ,objected to blindly imitate the ancients. Gong Xian succeeded in dialectical studying both with the traditional essence and the nature of painting itself.While modeling after Nan Zong's performance methods,he devoted himself greatly into the study of life,thus formed a landscape mood of both traditional and realistic, which can be described as unprecedented and no arrivals. His independent style of landscape painting was a great influence on development. Gong Xian's art conception is reflected not only in the technique which was formed in his later years,but also at the overall macro doctrine on "brushwork,ink,organization and charm". He considered that the organization played a great role as a tool as well as an operation. Therefore,Gong Xian's conception disregarded the only interest of brushwork at that time. In the scheme of the operation, he favoured the rational distribution of "An" and "Qi"."An" means reliable and reasonable,while "Qi" means original and attractive .That is ,to seek odd in order. In a word, the charm based on brushwork,ink and organization of paintings, which cannot be expected. Gong Xian's success in painting benefited from his seeking to "Run", showing the perfect combination of geographical features and painting natures. Plain but provoking,realistic while maya-like,he did a highly integration of reality and art.In the seventeenth century,Chinese painting continued the style of Yuan Dynasty which was lack of vitality.Gong Xian was known for his vision of delivering the ancients' nature to live as a source of art and created a new landscape monument. It provided a new revelation for the innovation of contemporary landscape art , that is ,life is an inexhaustible source of art . In this paper ,the writer introduced the life and studies of Gong Xian ,analysed his performance features,and studied the effects of his style combined with his personalities.
