Gong Xian, who lived in the alternate times between the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, has formed his unique painting style on the basis of studying the ancestors, skillful ways, and reached a quite high level on the usage and development of how to collect ink, which has an important influence on that of Huang Binghong, Li Keran, Jia Youfu and so on. The essay analyzes the relationship passed on from Gong Xian’s art style to the creative work of the modern landscape painting, elaborates his painting style, analyzes the creative features of the modern Chinese landscape painting, and explores the enlightening and influence his style brings to the creative of the modern landscape painting, so as to guide us to bring up personal paining style, further more, to creat different works in different era.
