Study On People's Character Of History Play By Guo Qihong

Guo qihong is not only one of the most famous playwrights nowadays,he is also an important drama theorist.On the basis of a large collection of historical materials,this dissertation aims to make a grave excavation and particular analysis of the historical plays by Guo Qihong,forward a series of new concepts and categories and some original theoretical viewpoints,and draw some illuminative conclusions.the historical play is the play of"reversing the verdict",in which the playwright reads history and interprets the ancients at the basic point of humanity of the enlightening spirit,so that the viewpoint of"trueness"in the creation of historical play turns from the classical"objective trueness"to the modern"subjective trueness".The spirit of enlightenment that was full of characteristics of GuoQinghong'plaies helped the playwright produce brilliant achievements in the field of historical drama.As a result of that,Guo Qihong's plays represent definite independent consciousness as an individual.Guo Qihong'plays always make those famous savants or artists as the leader characters such as Sima Qian and Sima Xiangru.Through these plays,Guo Qihong represented his idea about savants' fates and localizations in society and history which reflected the decisive affection of feudalization political institution cultural tradition on savants'fate.this is why Guo Qihong's plays always have profound meanings.and this is also the aim of this paper.
