Shadow play as the essence of the traditional Chinese folk art,can be discreted as a long history,and loved by the local people for thousands of years.Shanxi shadow play as an important part of northern shadow play in China,is not only famous in shanxi province,and popular around the whole country.Weather it's historical origin,music type,the charactristic disguise or the script,shanxi shadow play is expressive of the real local art style,and is the perfect match of art and esthetic.This thesis focuses on shanxi shadow play,through lots of literatures,the field survey data,and the previous academic research results to do the research of this object.It systemically analyzes the development of shanxi shadow play,the function of folk,the artistic charactristics and other related categries.(such as Piqiang paper window film and wanwanqiang screen movie)In order to get the historical changes,the original beliefs of local people,and the charactristic Of its unique artistic aesthetics etc.This thesis is divided into three parts: introduction,main body and conclusion.The first part is the introduction.The main contents are as follows: the purpose and significance of this thesis,the source of data,the research ideas and methods,and the recent research status in China and abroad.The main part of this thesis mainly focuses on the historical origin of shadow play,and from its historical development,effect in local custom,antistic charactristics and performance form four aspects of detailed textual research.Among them,the history of the development of Shanxi shadow play more focuses on the application of archaeological reference,and adding the content of the war period to the wanwanqiang shadow play.The main function of local custom is to summarize the two main functions of Shanxi film,which is the function of religion and entertainment.The discussion of the artistic features focuses on the two aspects of the music singing and art modeling of the main schools of the art of shanxi shadow play and wanwanqiang shadow play.At last,the paper gives a description andexplanation of the performance form's characteristics in Shanxi shadow play.The conclusion part summarizes the research of this paper,that the Shanxi shadow shows significantly changes from the prosperous beginning to the recession development.Shadow play has two main functions which is religion and entertainment.It shows the unique characteristics of the local culture from aspect of music,art modeling,and performance form.
